Imagine losing weight without even thinking about it. That is what Mrs Kaamina H Patel, 56, did as she dropped more than 21 Kg in no time — without feeling hungry or tired.

Before year 2019, Mrs Kaamina originally weighed 86 Kg, which made it impossible to be active, much less keep up with her energetic routine. Along with excess weight she had to deal with Diabetes and Breast Fibrosis as well. Daily insulin and medicines made her more inactive.

“I was so sluggish and had no desire to do anything,” Kaamina said.

Kaamina had heard about Zydus Hospital’s Gobesity Bariatric Surgery Center from her primary health care provider. Hoping that weight loss surgery may benefit her, she made an appointment to talk with Dr. Parag Patel, GI and Bariatric Laparoscopic Surgeon on the end of Jan, 2019 — the day that changed her life forever.

“Dr Parag Patel and the staff at Zydus Hospitals are amazing,” Kaamina said. “They really prepare you, telling you all about the bariatric surgery procedure, the recovery and the diet I would have to follow post Op.”

Other patients who previously had weight loss surgery talked to her about their experiences. This strong support helped boost her confidence as she set the date for her Bariatric Surgery for the starting of February 2019.

In less than a year since the surgery, Kaamina went from 86 kg to 65Kg, leaving behind Diabetes and other complications related to her weight. Her new mantra is “No worry, go for Surgery!”
